Optimism as UDC's drafts submission deadline approaches

FRANCISTOWN: The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) is optimistic that drafts of its policies and constitution review will be submitted on Monday's set deadline following a new affiliate into its fold.

The coalition kickstarted the process to review its constitution early this month after the arrival of the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF).

Streams tasked with executing drafts are made up of members from the Botswana People’s Party (BPP), Botswana National Front (BNF), and the UDC newcomers BPF. Each party has sent two representatives. The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) is not participating in the process since the suspension of its leaders, president Dumelang Saleshando and secretary-general Goretetse Kekgonegile.
