Ntuane extends olive branch to unions

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) secretary general, Botsalo Ntuane extended a hand of peace to unions yesterday, as he gave a solidarity message at the Botswana Public Service Employee Union (BOPEU) congress.

Over the weekend, the party’s Gaborone Region, of which Ntuane is a member, resolved to get closer to the various unions, as a way of regrouping from the lower popular vote experienced in 2014.

Addressing BOPEU delegates, Ntuane said while the relationship between the party and the unions had been fraught with difficulties, there was an opportunity for a fresh start.
