Parliament has adopted a motion calling for an institution of forensic land audit, following growing public outcry over alleged corruption, maladministration and manipulation of waiting lists within land administration structures across the country. The motion was tabled by Mogoditshane East Member of Parliament (MP) Letlhogonolo Barongwang.

The legislator had also requested government to consider instituting a 15-year forensic audit covering all land allocations in Mogoditshane.

The proposed audit would scrutinise the conduct of land board officials and employees, councillors, MPs, and senior tribal administration staff.
