Moyo calls for expansion of Ipelegeng working period

The MP for Tati East Samson Guma Moyo has called on the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) to expand the working period in the Ipelegeng programme so that beneficiaries sustain their monthly needs.

He said this at the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee meeting in Gaborone yesterday. Moyo argued that the ministry’s report states that 60,000 people were hired on the programme across the country per month.

He said this clearly indicated that there was a high rate of unemployment in the country and this meant that the 20 percent unemployment rate presented by the ministry was skewed.
