When Oarabile Motlaleng, affectionately known in political circles as 'Senyolonyolo' assumed office as the Mayor of the Gaborone City Council (GCC), reactions were mixed.

Some doubted his ability to bring real change to the capital, citing long-standing challenges and a lack of progress under previous mayors.
