Mother pleased as Abbie continues Recovery

Lerato Ntshabele, the mother of 14-year-old Abia, expressed excitement at her daughter’s progress, following extensive surgery for cancer in Belgium.

Known popularly as Abbie, the teenager underwent an operation for a rare cancer, Metastatic Immature Teratoma, following a nationwide fundraising appeal, which raised hundreds of thousands of Pula last year.

Abbie was diagnosed with the disease last year in January and underwent an eight-hour operation on March 16.
