Press Statement: The Office of the President wishes to inform members of the public that His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana has suspended the Permanent Secretary to the President Mr Carter N. Morupisi from his office with effect from 2nd September 2019 following his appearance in court over corruption related charges.

In this regard, His Excellency the President has appointed Mr. Elias M. Magosi as the Acting Permanent Secretary to the President until further notice.

Furthermore, Ms Peggy Serame has been appointed as the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary to the President while Ms. Kganela Malikongwa has been appointed the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry.
