MoH acts against Mpox disease

Following a World Health Organization (WHO) notice for countries to be on high alert about the surging MPox virus, the Government of Botswana has intensified screening for the disease at various ports of entry.

“The recent global surge in Mpox cases has resulted in WHO declaring Mpox disease a public health emergency of international concern, in line with this declaration African CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) declared Mpox disease a public health emergency of continental security,” read the statement of Ministry of Health (MoH).

The ministry further revealed acting on a directive from WHO to protect the public.
