Gabalape Matsime (32) who is accused of brutally killing a female police officer Onkemetse Motiki (36) in broad daylight last year December appeared before Broadhurst Magistrate's Court today for his mention.
Motiki lost her life after she was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object at Tsholofelo location on December 30, 2022 when she went out to meet the said man who allegedly then claimed her life.
Speaking before the Magistrate Court earlier today, Matsime pleaded with the court to help him with an alternative to seek bail, as the magistrate has made it clear that they cannot help him with bail application.
“Since the court cannot help me with my bail, I would like the court to assist me by giving me papers that I can go and use to apply for bail at the High Court,” Matsime stated.
The court then assisted Matsime with his pleas, as his cries were acceded to, and he was served with the papers he had requested for. However, Matsime was further remanded in prison, and he will be expected to appear for his next mention on February 27,2023 at the Broadhurst Magistrate's court.
