Man arrested for defilement

The matter was reported to the police yesterday morning after the teenage girl of Basimane ward, Poloka village allegedly spent the night at the suspect’s place. Quizzed by her grandmother where she had spent her night upon arrival home in the morning the minor revealed to have slept at her boyfriend’s place.

Shocked by her response the old woman reported the matter to the police that led to the arrest of the suspect who is currently in police custody facing a defilement charge.

Dibete police station commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku confirmed to be investigating the matter. He stated that the duo was taken to Mahalapye Hospital for medical examination.

The suspect will soon be taken to Mahalapye Magistrate's Court for arraignment
