Makgalemele's alleged BPP 'interest' sparks mixed reactions

Just as football has its transfer window, politics also has periods when individuals switch allegiances from one party to another, often influenced by life’s pressures or changing political fortunes.

It is, therefore, not unusual to see a politician shift between multiple parties within a short period. In this context, the reported interest of former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) member, Phillip Makgalemele, in willing to join the Botswana People's Party (BPP) has not come as a surprise to many.

Makgalemele is a former minister and had lost in the general elections from 2014. Therefore, life at his former party also has not been as easy as it was before.
