Police are investigating a case in which a 21-year-old woman of Dilaene Ward in Mahalapye was raped following an attack by a trio of men whilst she was walking home alone from an entertainment place.

The incident occurred at around 2:30am, according to Mahalapye Central Police Station commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku. "The victim said whilst walking home alone she met three men on the way who attacked her. She said one of them pulled her by the roadside where he subsequently raped her whilst the other two were waiting nearby," Ranku said. "The victim was rescued by a passerby who walked in on them. They all escaped the crime scene. The passerby reported the matter to the police and we have since launched a manhunt to locate and arrest the suspects who are still at large."
