Magosi Concedes Intelligence Oversight Bodies Ineffective

The director general of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS), Peter Magosi has conceded that the spy agency’s oversight bodies are ineffective.

This is despite that the DIS Act has provision for the Parliamentary Committee on Intelligence, and Intelligence and Security Services Tribunal to provide oversight on the organisation.

Magosi said this on Friday when addressing members of the press in Gaborone to mark his one-year anniversary since taking charge of the directorate.
