Local farmers show huge appetite for technology

A new mobile application for farming by cellphone giants Orange Botswana, m-Agri, has reached over 10,000 registered users as at end of September.

The agricultural mobile application which is supported by Orange Botswana is said to be registering about 260 new users on a daily basis. The  new mobile application was designed for farmers in underserved communities.

The m-Agri application is accessible through the short code *118#  and is a brain child of a young entrepreneur Martin Setimela under his start-up company Brastorne Group. It is currently only available to Orange customers.
