JC class of 2013 not that good

The 2013 Junior Certificate Examinations (JCE) results released by the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) yesterday afternoon indicate a decline in performance compared to last year's .A total of 325 (0.5 percentage) candidates got Grade A compared to 590 (1.5 percentage) in 2012,a percentage decrease of 0.7.

A statement from the communications division says that a total of 3, 788 (9.7%) candidates passed with Grade B in 2013 compared to 4,745 (12.4%) in 2012 representing a decline of 2.7%. total of 9,629 candidates obtained Grade C in 2013 whereas 10,386 (27.1%), were awarded this grade in 2012, indicating a decline of 2.4 percent. 

"The number of candidates awarded Grade D in 2013 is 13,662 (35.1%) compared to 13,641 (35.6%) in 2012, showing a slight decrease of 0.5%,” according to the communication.
