'I deserve bail because I took her to hospital'—accused

A man accused of brutally assaulting the mother of his child has told the court he had no intention of killing her when he appeared before the court last week.

The accused, Tebo Molebeledi, said he was the one who took the victim to the hospital and thereafter reported himself to the police.

According to his charge sheet, on September 30, 2025, at Morwamoswe village, Molebeledi unlawfully assaulted Becky Bakganedi with a metal rod on the head, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
