MOGODITSHANE: The recent water disconnection by Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) in 18 primary schools has dented the Mogoditshane/Thamaga council coffers and left it less P2,349,422.19, which they paid on January 9, 2014.

Opening the sub-district’s first session of the full council meeting yesterday, the council chairperson Driver Motlokwa said that the council is still faced with a serious problem of high water bills in primary schools.

He said that three of the schools, Taumanthe, Serameng and Gabane were only connected during the last week of the month after agreeing to settle their combined arrears amounting to P3,928,070.45 by February 2014. Motlokwa said the council will intensify its investigation on the high bills in due course.
