Gweta man awaits judgment for girlfriend's murder

A man who allegedly suffocated his girlfriend and mother of his child before burning her body was on Friday told that there is prima facie evidence that points to him as the perpetrator.

The State alleges that Nsununguli Lewanika, 42, of Gweta village in the Central District murdered Shashamulani Bango on October 7, 2017, at Xhinixhwa cattle post near Gweta and based on the first impression of evidence presented and accepted as correct was not proven otherwise.

Lewanika through his attorney, Luanda Antonio, had previously made an application of no case to answer after the prosecution closed its case.
