Growing use of illegal guns alarms police

The deputy commissioner of police and chairperson of Arms Quota Board, Dinah Marathe said the use of illegal firearms in crime-related incidents is growing at an alarming rate.

Marathe said this when giving welcome remarks at the 2019 Arms Quota Board Raffle Draw, which was held at the Botswana Police Service headquarters earlier today. 

She said most of the guns that are used in crime-related incidents are unlawfully owned.
