Gov't bans slaughtering at weddings, funerals amid FMD outbreak

In a press release, acting Director of Veterinary Services Kobedi Segale said the decision follows investigations that confirmed an outbreak of FMD in the district.

“Additional prevention measures include prohibition of transportation, movement, or slaughter of cloven-hoofed animals, including for personal consumption or social events such as weddings, funerals, and megoga countrywide, except in Zones 1 (Chobe) and 2 (Ngamiland),” Segale said.
