Narrating what transpired, Ghanzi Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Sello Seagateng, said the 31-year-old suspect, who is also the father of the victim's child, assaulted and later dragged the 36-year-old woman to his place, where he subsequently raped her.
"After realising the victim was injured, he looked for a taxi and dropped the victim at Ghanzi hospital, where the matter was later reported to the police. The suspect of the same ward was followed and arrested that fateful night and has been remanded in custody," he said
