Five children drown

Five children drowned in Mosope River (Moshupa) yesterday in the late afternoon.

Among the five children who drowned, four are girls and a boy. All the five children are said to be closely related. Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Banneetse Keakile said they received the report around 16:41hrs.

“A passerby saw the children floating in water from a distance and reported the matter to the police. The police rushed to the scene, took the children to the local clinic, where they were certified dead on arrival by the doctors,” Keakile said.
