Police in Mahalapye are investigating a case in which a 39-year-old man of Davedale died after he was stabbed with a sharp object.
It is allegedl that the deceased and another had a fight over a girlfriend.
Mahalapye-Central police station commander, Superintendent Moatlhodi Onalenna said the murder incident occurred Sunday at around 10pm near a shebeen in Bokaa ward, Mahalapye.
"Afrer leaving the shebeen the deceased allegedly passed by his girlfriend not far from the shebeen, but found her with another man, which resulted in a fight ensuing between the two men. He was seen leaving the scene of the fight running away, but later on he was found lying by the roadside with stab wounds on his neck and shoulder. The matter was reported to the police who rushed him to Mahalapye Hospital where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors," he said.
Onalanna further revealed that they have since arrested the man he was seen fighting with. He said the 28-year-old man of Bokaa ward in Mahalapye has already admitted to the offence and he is currently in police custody helping the police with investigations.
