Female police officer killed while on uniform

A 36-year-old female officer was stabbed by an unidentified man who had followed her to work in Tsholofelo Police Post in Gaborone yesterday.

The female Constable allegedly came running screaming for help with stab wounds a short while after she was seen walking with the unidentified man. Confirming the incident to MmegiOnline, No:3 Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent, Theriso Thatayotlhe, said the incident occurred when the officer was on duty at Tsholofelo Police Post and she was on tea break. "She was last seen walking with that unknown man on the street. Shortly she was seen running screaming for help with stab wounds and she collapsed. We suspect that he (unknown man) who is still on the run might have stabbed her with a sharp object because she had sustained stab injuries, " Thatayotlhe said.

Thatayotlhe said the deceased was rushed to Extension 2 Clinic, where she was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Thatayotlhe said investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired.
