Expectant woman’s body found near F/Town’s Jubilee Clinic

FRANCISTOWN: An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a dead pregnant woman from Kasane whose body was found here near Jubilee Clinic on Friday morning.

Her exact destination and purpose of her visit to the second city was yet to be established, police officials said. Central Police Station commander, Superintendent Mogomotsi Kesupile stated that the woman, 27, was found motionless by a passerby before being declared deceased by doctors. Police investigation further found that she had travelled to Francistown from Kasane on Tuesday and three days later her body was discovered. Kesupile, however, said the exact location of her visit in Francistown or the purpose of the visit is still unknown. According to him, doctors confirmed that the deceased was pregnant at the time of her death.

He added that the police don't suspect any foul play because the deceased didn't have any visible injuries on her body or signs of physical harm. Kesupile emphasised that post-mortem results will reveal the cause of death. The deceased's immediate family has been informed of the unfortunate incident.
