"A photocopying machine may seem like a small thing but to us and our parents, it is a big deal" were the words of a Standard 6 leaner, Amogelang Mompati, at the handover of her schools' photocopying machine from Diamond Technology Park (DTP).

As schools continue to suffer from limited resources making learning environments difficult and in turn forcing parents to foot the bill, the generous donation of a brand new photocopying machine was welcomed with an applause from the learners and parents.

Speaking during the handover, Mmopane Primary School head, Gagoitsiwe Marata expressed her gratitude to DTP.

“We are currently number one in our region for the PSLE results, if we could do so much with no resources imagine what we will now be able to achieve. This donation may seem like a simple act but in reality, it is a powerful contribution to the smooth running of our school. It will enhance the smooth running and preparation of learning and reduce delays in assessment and improve administration efficiency,” Marata said.

For her part, DTP Chief Executive Officer Rutang Moses explained that the top of the range printer is capable of printing 50 pages per minute and can load 4,700 pages.

“We really believe that the government alone will not manage to get the country where it needs to be, we need to be partners to improve efficiency in our education system,” Moses said.

Member of Parliament for Mmopane-Metsimotlhabe, Pushie Manyeneng, also thanked the school and DTP for the support, urging other businesses to also follow suit and assist government in making a better learning environment for future leaders.
