The event, scheduled for June 27, 2026, will feature a 20-kilometer guided hike to the historic Legaga la ga Kobokwe (Kobokwe Cave), one of Botswana's treasured heritage sites located near Molepolole. Organisers say the festival seeks to combine outdoor recreation with cultural appreciation by introducing participants to an important historical landmark while encouraging healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness. The hiking expedition will commence from Dipidipidi Garden in Masebosebo, Gakgatla, with participants expected to gather at 5:30 am for registration and a pre-departure briefing.
The group will set off at 6:00 am, make its way to Kobokwe Cave, and return to the campsite. Speaking ahead of the event, organisers said the initiative is intended to establish a unique annual tourism and wellness attraction for Kweneng District. “This event is more than just a hike. It is an opportunity for people to experience nature, learn about our heritage, network with fellow adventurers and appreciate the beauty of the area while promoting physical fitness,” organisers noted. The programme will feature welcoming remarks from traditional leadership, heritage presentations about Kobokwe Cave, warm-up aerobics, guided hiking activities and wellness sessions. Participants will also have an opportunity to interact with representatives from community organisations and development partners supporting the event. For those wishing to extend the experience, free camping will be available at Dipidipidi Garden on the evening of June 26.
