Dates set for Bulela Ditswe appeals

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) central committee has finally set dates to hear all cases of appeal against the Bulela Ditswe results. The central committee will hold the hearings in different regions next week.

A letter written by BDP secretary general Mpho Balopi this week stated that, “We wish to invite all the BDP 2013 Primary Elections candidates, regions, appellants and/or affected parties to attend Primary Elections Appeals hearings that have been directed to the CC at the Party Head Office in Gaborone from 9 am as per the following schedule.”  In the letter, leaked to Mmegi by insiders, Balopi would not reveal if verdicts were to be released on the same days as the hearings.  He, however, said each case would depend on its merit.

The appeals will be heard on the following dates;

  • Jan 14,2014-Letswapo,Central and Shoma regions
  • Jan 15,2014-F/town,Bomase and N/East regions
  • Jan 16,2014-North West and Western regions
  • Jan 17,2014-Southern and South East regions
  • Jan 18,2014-Kweneng and Gaborone regions
