Court throws out loan case

Urban Customary Court president, Kgosi Isaac Monametsi, has dismissed a case in which a 49 year-old man, Dimakatso Oodira, hauled Keamogetse Mabotseng to court demanding that she pay her P600 balance from P1,500 that she borrowed.

The court heard that Oodira had borrowed money from a motshelo which was supposed to accrue interest but Monametsi said he could not hear the case because that society was not registered.

Monametsi said all cash loans were supposed to be properly registered by the Registrar of Companies.
