Council erects Pilane landfill fence

Kgatleng District Council (KDC) has spent about P900,000 in the erection of a fence at the Pilane landfill site.

Speaking at the full council meeting on Monday, council chairperson, Daniel Molokwe said the fencing of the landfill site has improved the security of goods and personnel working at the site.

He said entry or exit from the site is only through the main gate. “The removal of abandoned clinical waste at the landfill project which was budgeted for P800,000 managed to remove 50.4 tonnes of waste for safe disposal.
