Cops shoot, kill 'notorious' armed robber

Police shot and killed 30-year-old notorious armed robber Motlotlegi Aubrey Mongale this morning (Friday) in Block 6, Gaborone

Mongale had been on the police's 'wanted list' for several criminal offences including robbery (ATM blasting), breaking into a motor vehicle, theft, shop breaking and theft, malicious damage to property, and stealing from a person. The man from Serowe died while exchanging fire with the police.

Confirming the shoot-out in a media release, the Botswana Police Service public relations' assistant commissioner, Dipheko Motube said two firearms, explosives, false motor vehicle registration number plates, hand gloves, and housebreaking implements were found in his possession.
