Two female employees from one of the local Choppies Supermarkets in Gaborone were on Saturday night attacked and raped whilst walking home after knocking off in Block 3 Industrial.

The duo, aged 25 and 28 were walking to Broadhurst, where they reside after knocking off, when they were attacked at around 9pm. Broadhust Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said when narrating what transpired, the victims said the suspect initially met them on the way and asked if the shop was closed and proceeded with his journey. “They said whilst walking the suspect pounced on them in an attack threatening them with a knife and raping them one after the other, took their mobile phones and fled the crime scene,” Lokae said, adding that investigations into the matter are ongoing to locate and arrest the unknown man who is still at large.
