Choppies Botswana keeps P4, 000.00 living wage promise

Choppies Botswana launched the P4, 000.00 employee living wage on January 25, 2025.

The event was conducted to solidify the company’s commitment to its promise of raising the living wage of its employees to P4, 000. The launch was graced by President Duma Boko, Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Major Pius Mokgware and other senior government officials.

According to Choppies, the P4, 000 living wage has been rolled out as of January 2025 to all employees who have completed 12 months of continuous service and were earning below P4, 000 total cost to company. Employees with less than 12 months of service as of January 2025 will receive the adjustment in increments every six months, starting July 2025. Choppies ‘promises to continue its commitment to prioritise staff welfare and maintain a competitive remuneration policy for all its employees’.
