Serowe police have raised concern at the alarming rate of theft cases of the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) copper cables in their policing area.

The concern was revealed by Serowe police station commander, superintendent Poloko Oteng in an interview with The Monitor.

He indicated that they are recording two to three cases in a week of thieves stealing electric copper cables from homes. Oteng revealed that they have established that the criminals target unoccupied and vacant houses and cut electric cables that go from the electric pole to the house.
