BURS shake-up: Staff emergency meeting after CEO dismissal

BURS Commissioner of Operations, Phodiso Valashia, has reportedly been appointed acting Commissioner General of the tax agency, following the dismissal of Jeanette Makgolo, information from an emergency staff meeting held today indicates.

Makgolo is reportedly fighting her dismissal and is filing papers to interdict the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance.

Highly placed insiders at the tax agency told Mmegi that an emergency meeting was called today following reports that the Finance Ministry had formally informed Makgolo of her termination.
