BURS judgement postponed again

The Industrial Court has postponed judgement in a case in which the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) has dragged Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) management to court over alleged intimidation of striking members.

Yesterday, Judge Virgil Vergeer, who stood in for Judge Tapiwa Marumo announced that judgement will be delivered on October 15, 2015. About two weeks ago Marumo reserved judgement for yesterday after the two parties argued their case.

BURS workers went on strike last month demanding salary adjustments. Processes at the revenue agency have since slowed down, with negotiations yet to yield a solution.
