As Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) continues to recruit members from other political parties, party president, Mephato Reatile, has confirmed that they were courting former Mmathethe-Molapowabojang legislator, Edwin Dikoloti before he chose to run as an independent candidate.

Dikoloti has been suspended by the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and lost party ticket last week despite winning the party primaries in the Goodhope-Mmathethe constituency. Dikoloti who was plotting a move back to the candidacy before President Mokgweetsi Masisi suspended him this week is currently contemplating his political future. After his removal Dikoloti is reportedly considering a lot of options amongst others running as an independent candidate or joining the opposition.

So far, the BPF is the only party which has confirmed that they are trying to lure the minister of health to their camp. This is despite the BPF having already launched former Mass Media boss Mogomotsi Kaboeyamodimo as the candidate in Goodhope-Mmathethe.
