BPF instructs Butale hearing

FRANCISTOWN: Some key members of the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) are pushing for suspended president, Biggie Butale’s hearing to be expedited.

Sources said on Monday this week the National Executive Committee (NEC) held a meeting where it gave the party’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) a timeline of two weeks to have deliberated on Butale’s case. That was after one of the senior party officials reportedly expressed concern about the party’s failure to be call Butale for a hearing timely.

“ The chairperson of the DC has been told to update the NEC on the progress made in relation to handling Butale’case on the 23rd of April. If significant progress has not been made, some NEC members have proposed that he (Butale) be reinstated,” a senior BPF official said on condition anonymity.
