BPF challenges PDC suspension

Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) has announced plans to formally engage Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Ketlhalefile Motshegwa, over the recent suspension of Palapye District Council (PDC) councillors and their committees. Speaking in an interview on Thursday, the party’s interim spokesperson Modiri Lucas said, “We have not yet written to him, but we will engage him formally.”

Lucas described the suspension as a decision that transcends partisan politics and should be treated as a matter of national interest.

He emphasised that the PDC plays a crucial role in providing essential services to residents, and any disruption of its operations inevitably affects the welfare and development of the communities it serves.
