FRANCISTOWN: Police are still looking for an unknown individual who is suspected of murdering a 31-year-old female in the Selebi-Phikwe’s Botshabelo West area.

It was reported that the woman was found dead in front of a stranger's house two weeks ago. According to Botshabelo Police Station commander, Superintended Debbie Mdabuli, they are still looking for the unidentified suspect.

She asked members of the public who may know of or may have witnessed the heinous crime to come forward with any information that could aid in their investigations. According to Mdabuli, they received a report on May 28 of a woman who was suspected to be dead. She said when they arrived at the scene, they found the woman lying at the doorstep of a stranger's residence.

She stated that the woman was suspected to be fleeing for her life and attempting to get assistance, banging on the stranger's door. Mdabuli stated that the deceased woman had a severe cut on her throat that was likely caused by a sharp object.

According to her, the post-mortem report also reveals that the woman had injuries on her back, which they believe were also inflicted by a sharp object. The female was also said to be living with her mother and three of her children. Investigation into this matter is ongoing.
