BOPEU CEC underway in Palapye

A BOPEU CEC meeting is currently underway in Palapye and will go on until December 7 under the theme 'Building The 21st Century Labour Movement Through Decent Work And Effective Workplace Structures'.

The Central Executive Committee (CEC) meets to consider annual reports from the national executive committee, audited financial reports that will show the financial position of the union, the Board of Trustees report, consideration of the annual budget, and any other report.

Speaking to the media recently, Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) president, Masego Mogwera said the theme speaks to building effective workplace structures and mechanisms that protect workers’ rights and enable them to bargain collectively for better wages and working conditions. “We recognise that this year’s CEC will be held within the 16 Days Of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) which is a period between November 25 and December 12.
