Leader of the Botswana National Front (BNF) and also Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Duma Boko has urged members of his party to accept the results of the party primary elections for the sake of the party.

Speaking at the BNF annual conference in Gaborone today, Boko said members must accept that mistakes will happen as part of the processes . “The mistakes will happen, challenges will be there but accept them as they serve a purpose,” Boko stated. Furthermore, he urged members to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the party as opportunities will be plenty after their victory in the upcoming national General Election in October. “If you can’t accept that others can lead then you are the enemy,” he said, urging members to compromise if they see that other members can win for the party Boko further urged the party also to protect its image and its leadership from external attacks. He said if members have a complaint they must iron out their issues internally. Commenting on the recent resignations, Boko said those who want to quit the party are free to do so because true members will stay.

He said BNF is a resilient party and still in contest for the polls. Boko urged BNF members to also accommodate their affiliates from other political parties for the success of the party On UDC matters, he highlighted that they will convene its convention in August, launch the elections manifesto, candidates for council and Parliament as well as their campaign.
