President Duma Boko has reiterated his unwavering trust in women's leadership capabilities by appointing a number of women as ministers in his cabinet.

Boko said this morning when announcing the last batch of his cabinet to take the number to 18.

In the new cabinet Boko has taken faith in women and appointed them in ministerial positions from the ruling party Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

Specially Elected Member of Parliament (SEMP) Lesego Chombo was appointed Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs. Bogolo Kenewendo was yesterday appointed Minister of Minerals and Energy while another SEMP Nono Kgafela Mokoka is the new Minister of Child Welfare and Education.

Masego Mophuting an elected MP was today announced as the assistant minister of state president.

Boko stated that his decision behind these appointments of women shows exactly the trust and belief he has in women.

"O tla lemoga gore go tsene bomme tota botlhe ba ba mo palamenteng. Ba tshwere maemo a koo godimo kana a ha godingwana," Boko said. When loosely translated it states, "You will realise that the cabinet is formed of all women from Parliament. They are holding high positions of being ministers," he said.

Boko elaborated that his decision to appoint women in these positions is not a hoax but well informed one. "This decision was not by any mistake. It is a decision we well took to show that women have what it takes to rule," Boko said.

President Boko highlighted that women can deal better with challenges compared to men especially under duress. He stated this is one of the reasons he took to appoint these women despite them being qualified.

"The attribute of feminity entails empathy understanding, fellow feeling, caregiving which works best for them," he said.

Boko stated that this is a strategy to balance the gender inequalities that we have in our societies as the corporate world is dominated mostly by men.

Meanwhile Unity Dow from the opposition pary Botswana Congress Party (BCP) remains the only woman is not part of the cabinet.

Is our screening adequate?

Sadly, we live in a society that seems to be losing its moral fibre by the day. When parents take their children to a boarding school they do so to give them a brighter future, not to have some dirty paedophilic predator to prey on them. Sex orientation is a touchy subject and for young minds to be sexualised at a young age by a grown man perpetrating harm on them by cutting through their sphincter muscle to penetrate their anal canal. Anyone can...
