In a press release sent by BIUST’s acting director, communications and public telations, Keoagile Rafifing, said that on Tuesday afternoon, they received a message from an anonymous source that there was a bomb at the university premises.
“On Tuesday afternoon, we received a message from an unknown source advising us to evacuate students and staff from classes and offices since there was a bomb which would explode anytime. The university administration immediately informed the Botswana Police Service (BPS). All staff members, students and contractors were evacuated from the premises to a secure and safe place,” said Rafifing.
It is also hurting that whilst we all know that the Botswana Police Service (BPS) is charged functionally with the duties to investigate all forms of crime, some locals have resorted to taking the law into their own hands.
