BDP plots to scoop Sekoma

SEKOMA – The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) launched its bid to grab the Sekoma ward in a by-election, launching its candidate, Case Lebotso, over the weekend and welcoming 25 new members in the area.

The ward, which has been a stronghold of the BNF for the past 22 years, fell vacant in December last year when councillor Makalare Ngomme died after serving for six years.

Lebotso, a three-time runner in previous BDP primaries, was chosen as a compromise candidate and will battle for the council seat against Robert Rancho of the Umbrella for Democratic Change in the March 5 by-election.
