The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) central committee has dismissed Tonota South Member of Parliament (MP) Pono Moatlhodi and his Tswapong South counterpart Oreeditse Molebatsi's appeals for lack of evidence.Moatlhodi lost the primary elections last year against BDP deputy treasurer Thapelo Olopeng while Molebatsi lost to the Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcas Makgato-Malesu.

Apparently the BDP appeals committee felt that the two appellants did not furnish enough evidence to warrant a re-run of the primaries.Yesterday, the only appeals left to be heard were for Kweneng region. Mmegi has learnt that the Minister of Local Government, Peter Siele's case for Mmathethe/Molapowabojang was not listened to because he had withdrawn his appeal. The BDP secretary-general Mpho Balopi confirmed yesterday that Kweneng region appeals were still left. The appeals' committee is expected to finish the appeals tomorrow.

The appeals committee is made up of Sechele Sechele (executive secretary), Lee Lesetedi (electoral board secretary), Alec Seametso, Lesego Pule and additional members of the central committee Tebatso Lekalake and Victor Motobaki.
