FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) has once again postponed the final slot of the primary elections. The Francistown primaries which were initially planned for next month have been moved to March 8.

This is the second time the BCP has postponed the primaries to qualify for candidacy in the 2014 general elections in Francistown. They were initially scheduled for November 16, 2013 but were postponed to February 16 to allow the party to focus on the Francistown West by-election, which was then billed for last November.

Then on the eve of the controversy-ridden by-election, the then acting president, Ponatshego Kedikilwe postponed it to January 23. This put a spanner in the works, as BCP said they were forced to refocus their by-election campaign strategies and sacrifice the primaries.
