Batlokwa to fill key bogosi vacancies :: Mmegi Online

Batlokwa have finally moved to fill three key vacancies within their traditional leadership, following a period of instability that saw some leaders dismissed for taking Kgosi Puso Gaborone to court over the 145-year village celebrations.

At the time, the dismissed leaders argued they had not been consulted. However, the tribe and Kgosi Gaborone maintained that proper consultation had indeed taken place. Now, Kgosi Goabamong Basha, Kgosi Boikhutso Pilane, and Kgosi Tautsagae Matlala have been identified to assume the roles, marking a significant step towards restoring stability within the bogosi.

Addressing the community at the Tlokweng kgotla on Saturday, Kgosi Gaborone explained that the positions of Senior Chief Representative, Chief Representative, and Headman of Records had remained vacant since February. He emphasised that, in line with established laws, such roles cannot be filled without thorough consultation.
