Bashe Rollers wins Goledzwa tournament

Bashe Rollers Football Club emerged the winners of the Goledzwa Independence Mini-Tournament that was held over the independence holidays in Tutume. The team won most of the games without conceding goals in any game.

This was a spectacular performance for a team that got the last but one position in the 2015/16 tournament and the last position in 2014/15. It showed tremendous improvement on their part. The mini tournament did not go well for the defending champions, Mangaungau Football Club who were relegated to position five out of a total of  six teams. “We would however, like to thank all the teams for an incident free tournament over the independence holidays. We further remain indebted to our supporters for never failing to grace our matches because it is through them that the Goledzwa Football Tournament continues to rise and rise. As a community based tournament, the Goledzwa Football Tournament joined the rest of Tutume residents in celebrating the Independence Day at the various wards in the village,” a statement from the organisers reads.

Speaking at the independence celebrations in Magapatona ward, Goledzwa officials Boitumelo Nyanga and Kgosi Chikulu emphasised that Goledzwa Tournament will always remain a tournament of the people and will forever assist the communities in which teams come from. This was evidenced by our recent donation of some money for independence celebrations to all wards in Tutume where teams making up Goledzwa Tournament come from.
