It is clear that the Bangwato tribe in Serowe are not at peace that their kgosikgolo who is also former president Ian Khama has self-exiled.

Khama escaped the country late last year after he felt he was being harassed by the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS), as they kept on searching his properties and implicating him in different offences.

Even if the State has not yet charged or arrested him, Khama felt that his life was in imminent danger. Recently, the Bangwato demanded answers from Khama’s uncles to brief them (tribe) on what is happening to their chief and why the DIS keeps on slapping their chief with search warrants almost every month.
